The Lolab stream is stocked with trout and the valley has a clutch of Mughal-era structures. It is a classic Kashmir landscape — wide valley floor, cultivated fields, forested slopes — without the crowds of the main tourist circuit.
The village of Sogam at the upper end of the valley is the furthest most visitors reach.
Getting there
Drive from Kupwara town into the valley (about 30 km to Sogam). From Srinagar: about 2.5 hours to Kupwara then 45 minutes further into the valley.
