A quiet meadow in Budgam district, popular for day trips from Srinagar.
Doodhpathri — "valley of milk" — is a wide open meadow in Budgam district with a stream running through it that turns milky white over limestone in places. It is a quiet, easy day trip from Srinagar with no complicated logistics. The meadow is used for grazing in summer and the Gujjar herdsmen's wooden huts are visible on the hillsides.
A good option if you want meadow scenery without the Gulmarg crowds.
